Brief Introduction to
Pu-Erh Tea Brick
From a functional perspective, Pu Erh tea brick was easy to be transported along the ancient Tea and Horse Caravan Road and was thereby compressed in history. Pu Erh Tea bricks are made primarily from the large leaf variety of Camellia Assamica. Blocks of Pu Erh tea leaves are packed in molds and pressed into block form.
Pu Erh Tea can be compressed into various shapes according to the requirement of clients or sometimes the intention of manufacturers to do so. In any case, the shape of Pu Erh tea has nothing to do with its quality. The tea leaves used to make Pu Erh tea bricks vary widely in grades, ranging from twigs and mature leaves in coarse grade tea bricks, to the pekoes for the production of higher grade tea bricks. Usually we source loose Pu Erh tea and instruct the manufacturers to produce the shape we want.
