Anhua Dark Tea Bricks are typically referred to as Fu Brick (伏砖), Hei Brick (黑砖, literally as Black Brick) and Hua Brick (花砖, Bricks with decorative patterns), which use the Anhua dark green tea as the raw materials. Anhua Dark Tea Bricks are divided into such two grades as special dark tea and ordinary dark tea.
Fu brick tea, well-known as the ancestor of fermented tea, is the top grade in the ancient dark tea. As a post-fermented tea, Fu brick tea is the most complex and unique dark tea which has the longest production processing cycle spanning from screening, sorting, pile-fermenting, weighting, steaming, compressing and molding, drying, etc. After these processing steps the raw dark green tea will be shaped brick-like in appearance, with flourishing golden flowers (发花 —— 中国黑茶特有之工艺秘诀) all over, dark and shining, red and strong tea soup, mellow to the taste with lasting scent.
Anhua dark tea bricks contain many kinds of amino acids, vitamins and trace elements which are necessary for human body, and its rich inclusion can effectively block the formation of carcinogenic microso group compound in human body. The contained steatolysis enzyme has the decomposition to be greasy, the digestion and reduces human body function as well as fat compound, cholesterol, three acid anhydride fat.

Anhua Dark Tea – Qian Liang Cha (Qian Liang Tea)
Qian Liang Cha (千两茶, also called Hua Juan 花卷) is a speciality tea from Anhua. Anhua County of Hunan Province is wordwide famous for dark teas. And dark tea is similar to Pu-erh which is also post-fermented while produced in China’s Yunnan Province. Qian Liang Cha is compressed to long and heavy poles from which later small discs or cakes are sliced. Qian Liang Cha can be literally translated as 1000 liang tea. “Liang” (两) is a Chinese traditional unit for weight. 10 liang approximately equals to 1 pound, therefor one Qian Liang Cha weights about 100 pounds (50kg).

Anhua Dark Tea – Xiang Jian
Xiang Jian (Chinese: 湘尖) is referred to as Tian Jian (天尖), Gong Jian (贡尖) and Sheng Jian (生尖), which respectively use Anhua dark green tea of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade as the main raw materials, which are produced in Anhua County of Hunan Province. Tian Jian and Gong Jian are both the top grade Anhua Dark Tea which were ever the exclusive drinks for the bureaucrats and landlords in ancient China. During Dao Guang period of the Qing Dynasty, Tian Jian and Gong Jian were officially selected as tributes for royal family.
Anhua Xiang Jian teas are still traditionaly packaged with bamboo basket in bulk, which is one of the oldest packaging methods for tea leaves.
